SUU Golfers Among the Field at the Utah State Amateur Add Comment    Aug 06, 2010

CEDAR CITY, Utah - July 6 - Southern Utah University will be represented at the 112th Utah State Amateur this week when the tournament begins on Wednesday afternoon.  The field will include current SUU golfer Jordan Orth, 2010-11 signee Nick Booth and SUU head coach Richard Church.  Jeff Evans, another current T-Bird golfer, also qualified for the tournament, but withdrew because of his spot in the U.S. Amateur Pub Links tournament this coming weekend.

The Utah State Am is scheduled at the Alpine Country Club with a field of 156 amateur golfers from the state.  The championship is scheduled for 36-hole stroke play rounds on Wednesday and Thursday and then moves into five rounds of match play to determine the eventual winner.

In addition to the current Thunderbirds in the tournament, former T-Birds will also fill the ranks, including Jared Brader, John Busby and Cameron Young.
