More Pac-10 Expansion Talk...Blah Blah Blah Add Comment    Jun 02, 2010

Anyone else getting tired of all the hype of the unkown? Rumors are surfacing all over the place and yet it is nearly impossible to find a credible source.  I heard from a friend of a cousin's ex fiance's sister that the Utes will be in the Pac-10 (No, that is not true).  So without wasting more of your time I give you this information.  This weekend the Pac-10 is meeting and will be discussing the expansion of the Pac-10 to either 12 or 16 teams.  There are several factors that will be disgussed regarding the issue.  I am going to go ahead and say that there really is only two factors that will ultimately decide the Pac-10's fate.  1st and foremost is the money.  All the heavy hitters have dollar signs in their eyes and if it's not going to be profitable then forget about it.  In a close 2nd...maybe not that close but is something to think about and in all reality directly effects the first factor. (pause for breath) National Championship credibility.  How many times have we seen 1 loss teams leapfrog undefeated teams just based on the fact they won a championship game in there conference.  Expanding the conference will not only bring more money but will also bring a stronger case for the victor of the conference to playing in the big dance.

Now I understand I am a nobody writer and I have no idea how many people agree or disagree with all the nonsense I decide to post in cyberland.  However I will still continue to share my opinion...deal with it.  I will continue with my attitude towards the BCS...I hate it...I don't ever think there will be a playoff in college football just based of money alone and I think the government has no place to get involved...seems to me like it's more of a way to get more votes than a way to better the world of college football.  In my opinion our countries leaders have bigger fish to fry.  That being said, the BCS will be around for a while so we should all just get used to it.  Does that mean the University of Utah should give in and become a part of the beast that we all love to hate?

Now after wasting much of your time I will conclude with this final statement.  This weekend will put us one step closer to having absolutley no idea what the future holds. I am excited for the day of an official announcement, until then I will continue to be a sucker and read EVERYTHING that is posted regarding conference expansion, including but not limited to Pac-10, Boise St to the MWC...Ba ha...google that one...I think it's funny Boise St is just waiting for an invite....cute lil buggers wanna play with a big boy conference, and the whole Big-12 fiasco.

P.S. I am very interested in hearing opinions from everyone, let's get the comments rolling or you can follow me  @GeOpH_MaN on twitter
