SALT LAKE CITY The 11th ranked SLCC Baseball team took their winning streak to 16 games with a sweep of Southern Nevada 2-1 & 3-0.  The Bruins are 17-1 overall and 4-0 in conference play.

AJ Carmen threw six complete innings striking out five while allowing two hits.  With the game tied at 1-1 in the bottom of the seventh a pinch hit RBI single by Kennedy Kinkade pushed Salt Lake on top.  Derrick Whitney was 2-2 with an RBI and Braden Anderson knocked his fourth double of the season. 

In the final game of the series Josh Mooney took a no hitter into the fifth inning before giving up two hits with five strikeouts.  The Bruins plated all three runs in the third inning behind a two RBI double by Cory Raymond.  Kyle Bilbrey was 1-2 with a double and RBI followed by Eddy Alvarez going 1-2 with a double.

TWIN FALLS, ID The SLCC womens basketball team fell to North Idaho in the Region 18 Championship.   The team completes the season with a record of 24-5 overall.

Four Bruins finished in double digits led by Jami Mokofisi and Alli Blake.  Mokofisi was Salt Lakes leading scorer with 19 points and 12 rebounds, Alli Blake scored 12 points with 10 boards.  Haley Holmstead scored 13 and Sofia Hepworth added 10.  The Bruins were within two points at half time but a tough shooting night for Salt Lake (41%) aided in the loss along with 24 turnovers.  Salt Lake out rebounded North Idaho 44-29 with 15 offensive rebounds.

TWIN FALLS, ID    - The SLCC Mens Basketball team fell in the Region 18 Championship game to Southern Idaho 86-94.  The Bruins finish the season with a record of 25-8 overall.

Alfonzo Hubbard led Salt Lake with 27 points on 12-19 shooting from the floor.  Patrick McCollum put in 22 and Jason Gamblin finished with a double-double scoring 20 points with 10 boards.  Salt Lake committed 21 turnovers while shooting 53% from the field.
