WHERE DOES YOUR TEAM STAND? VIEW RANKING

Is BYU for Real? Add Comment    Jan 07, 2010

Recently I have heard a lot about how good BYU is, how; I it wasnt for Utah last year, BYU would not be ranked as high as they are this week. I have heard the Utah Fan and their entitlement, and I have hear the BYU fan and their jealousness. Well, it is time that we settle the argument and tell the truth.

As a graduate of the UofU and a true fan, I want to let you all know that this just may be BYUs year. Wait, did I say that, did I admit that, did I Well it is the truth. BYU has most of everyone returning, including the offensive and defensive coaches. They have a quarterback that is a senior and they rest of the team, even with injuries has talent. Not to take away from the UofU, but they have some work to do.

Let me start with the UofU. Two games and we cant score from the one yard line. Turnovers, turnovers and then some more turnovers. Not the type of BCS busting team we have seen in the past. Is this a year we could break the BCS again, maybe, will we, probably not. To many questions that should have been answered in the first two games against lower level talent. My biggest concern is not the defense and the corners; they will learn and get it. It is the offense. Cain looks strong, great running game with depth, but then the play caller. Oops, I mean to say the guy who does not understand 6 points in the red zone. Can Utah take down TCU, BYU, and Oregon? Maybe, but they need a lot of work to do that and coming Saturday, when the first test comes, they better play a lot better than they did against San Jose State.

BYU, come on U fans, they beat Oklahoma, they beat them, they won. Number three in the nations taken down by BYU. Do they look strong, yes, can they beat Florida State, I think so. Florida State is from astron conference, but they are not what they used to be, and BYU is strong at home. So I believe they can really make a huge step for the MWC this year. We need to help, but they have played a big game and won. Questions though, can Max Hall actually play games without an interception? I understand Oklahoma, they are good, but to have only two passing TDs and an interception against Tulane is not what I call a strong performance. I know he had the yards, but he needed more than that. In fact, for a QB calling his own plays, you should know better than anyone where the ball is going to be thrown. So, Hall won the game for BYU against Oklahoma, but the numbers again, not strong. Was it a good game, or a fluke? We will see this week against Florida State.

I think BYU has the talent, but can the QB show up all season and win games. We will see, but again, maybe Hall wishes he was wearing red like last year when he had more completions to Ute players than BYU players.
